ValueRock Realty Expands Mixed Use Development Platform with 2 New Hires

Irvine, CA (June 30, 2020) – Value Rock Partners, a national leading retail and mixed-use real estate investment and operating company is expanding its development and re-development business nationally with the appointments of Bradley Muth as Senior Managing Director and Garrett Byers as Development Associate. Muth and Byers will join Pat Cox, Managing Partner and Chief Development Officer, in the venture.

Over the last decade, ValueRock has been involved in over $30 billion in acquisitions in addition to another $20 billion in structured finance transactions. The company currently owns north of 2.5 million square feet of real estate across all asset types including hospitality and multifamily. The firm currently has north of 6 million square feet under planned development including over 10,000 multifamily units in development planning.


“We are opportunistic investors and operators. We seek core, core-plus, along with value-add properties and will consider investment opportunities up to $500 million,” said David Lee.


The development platform is focused on bringing cutting-edge, multi-disciplinary capabilities to create new visions and a sense of place for the Community. Some of the current projects include The Commons at Aliso Viejo, Calif., Deer Cove in Deer Valley, Utah, with 3.6 million square feet; and Mission Viejo Garden Plaza, Calif. with 275,000 square feet of mixed-use development.


As Senior Managing Director and as a member of the Executive Committee, Muth drives the overall strategy for the firm. He also oversees all development activities and is responsible for equity capital formation including all joint venture capital.


With 30 years of experience, Muth brings an extensive background in commercial real estate with particular expertise in development, acquisition management, and finance of more than $7.0 billion in property value. Muth held key positions at various companies nationwide.


At Madison Marquette, Washington D.C, and San Francisco, Muth was a Senior Managing Director and member of the Executive and Investment Committees where he oversaw the Company’s Portfolio of over $2 billion in value. 


As Founding Managing Partner at Concert Realty Partners in Chicago, IL, Muth oversaw all aspects of the operations. From inception in 1993, Concert and its predecessor, ING Realty Partners, invested approximately $1.4 billion in 179 transactions on behalf of several commingled institutional funds and separately managed accounts, involving properties throughout the US and Canada having an aggregate value in excess of $4.0 billion.


Garrett Byers, hired earlier this year, will build upon the firm’s growing development platform by overseeing financial analysis and underwriting. He’ll work alongside the firm’s development team leadership.

Byers brings half a decade of development experience to his new role at ValueRock. He most recently served in a similar role on the development team at Trademark Property Company.
