Chief of Staff 

ValueRock is searching for a highly qualified chief of staff to work closely with our executive team.  As the CEO’s "trusted counsel" this role will work closely with the senior leadership team and the CEO’s direct reports to communicate changes in prioritization and decision-making efficiently.  From day one, the chief of staff will have an immediate impact on our productivity, streamlining strategic initiatives, overseeing program management, and communicating objectives between departments. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a business management role, with a special focus on executive-level advising, interdepartmental collaboration and financial acumen coming from the management consulting, real estate, or financial industry.    


ValueRock Realty Partners is a privately held, national real estate investment services firm headquartered in Irvine, California, focusing on value-add commercial real estate including retail, office and industrial properties throughout California, Hawaii, and Arizona.



Serve as a Strategic Partner to the CEO of the Company.   Serving as a trusted advisor who can be called upon at any moment to provide support including:

  • Coordination and Interaction with Executive Leadership

  • Strategic and financial analysis

  • Operational Support

  • Oversee strategic business initiatives from inception to successful execution under the guidance of Executive Leadership and key stakeholders managing corporate Objectives Key results (“OKRs”)

  • Ideal candidate will have ability to rapidly integrate into organization to quickly assess issues that may serve as barriers to organization working at optimal effectiveness.  

  • From time to time taking a Leadership role of CEO-initiated projects  

  • Taking on day-to-day tasks building a strong mutual level of trust with the CEO allowing them to focus on larger strategic initiatives.   Daily tasks may include:

    • Team management & coordination

    • Meeting preparation

    • Defining and tracking corporate objectives and key results

  • Review, design, and execute on improvements to org structure, find knowledge and skills gaps and help address them

  • Improve current processes and coordinate organizational procedures for optimized efficiency and productivity

  • Forecasting and developing perspectives on market trends, innovations, risks, and disruptions that will require course corrections to the corporate strategy as needed

  • Collaborating with CEO and CFO in the development and management of Company’s budget and capital plan which are in line with near and long-term strategy

  • Analyzing market dynamics, market trends, market and category performance and competitive intelligence reporting to Principal/CEO and Executive Leadership team on a regular basis

  • Uncovering trends within and beyond the Commercial Real Estate Market to identify opportunities and/or risks that will shape investment strategy and maximizing value of assets

  • This individual is expected to be a full contributor to the executive leadership team discussions and topics, participating in most relevant meetings and offering synthesized business perspectives relevant to influencing key strategic decisions



  • Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 10 years’ work experience

    • Preferred MBA or related advanced degree

    • Preferred work experience coming from management consulting, commercial real estate, and/or financial industries

  • A background and/or exposure to commercial real estate sector and its stakeholders is preferred

  • Demonstrated ability to influence executive leadership on complex business topics.

  • Systems thinker, able to manage a high degree of complexity and to distill information into simple messages, with ability to think both strategically at a global level as well as effectively developing key processes

  • Financial background or analytical orientation allowing ability to distill complex information and communicate to others in a manner that is easy to comprehend

  • Exceptional cross-organization coordination and communication skills including ability to build comprehensive and compelling presentation and communication materials that span functions and groups

  • Strong interpersonal skills including ability to build trust, influence, and foster relationships with diverse team members; ability to leverage relationships to drive consistency of approach and ensure delivery

  • Ability to balance varying responsibilities that span businesses, communications, executive management, and culture

  • Strong project management skills and ability to lead multiple high-profile projects of varying timelines simultaneously

  • Openness and willingness to work hard, learn and take direction
